What is a machine screw?
A machine screw is a fully threaded fastener. It does not cut its own thread like a self tapping screw. Instead, it fits into a pre tapped hole or threads into a nut. The thread runs continuously from the head to the tip. This design gives you a secure hold and allows for repeated removal and reinstallation.
Three things that make machine screws different
Full thread. The thread goes all the way down. You can cut it to any length and still have threads.
Consistent clamping. The thread profile is uniform. Every screw delivers the same clamping force.
Reusable. Machine screws do not damage the threads they go into. You can remove and reuse them.
